This show won’t be appearing in the Archive until it receives some post production treatment, but here’s a little number from the third set to tide you over:
The Bruce Katz Band played a song just for me last night at Byron’s Bar in Pomeroy, Iowa.
The thing is: they’d never played the song before and initially declined my request for it but Aaron Lieberman (guitar, vocals) said he knew the song (by Rev. Gary Davis), and when I told them why I’d like to hear it, which was a death in the family earlier that day, they pulled a rabbit out of their hat and produced this track, completely unrehearsed:
My Dad was always a little mystified by my passion for music, and he is no longer around for yet another explanation from me, but the reason for that passion is contained here. Music is medicine.
Much thanks to
Bruce Katz, keyboards
Aaron Lieberman, guitar, vocals
Liviu Pop, drums
This duo, Ryan and brother Jesse Demody, killed it at Byron’s last night.
