Wallace Silverplate Large Tongs: Grand Baroque?

wallace tongs

Up for auction are really nice 8 1/4″ long silver tongs marked Wallace Silverplate on the inside handle. The pattern looks like Wallace’s popular Grand Baroque pattern, but I’m not sure. One spoon bowl has a pierced design and the other bowl is solid. Excellent condition, looks unused, would work for ice or serving any salad, fruit or vegetable.

Kid In A Sailor Suit

originally posted in Elsewhere 11/20/03, can’t remember what it got.

This poor kid in the sailor suit was really mad the day he had to go get this picture taken. He had new marbles and no interest in photography, or posterity. His mom made him do this. This card was apparently produced by Barnard, Wallace, Idaho, measures approximately 4 1/4″ x 6 1/2″, and is clean, shiny and sharp except for a very slightly dented upper right corner and a little bitty spot (quite insignificant, I think) in the upper left corner, about 1″ in and 1″ down. Back is blank.
